Project 1
Civic Heart Apartments, South Perth
The Civic Heart apartments in South Perth came with their own set of unique challenges. Almost all apartments feature sweeping views of the City, Kings Park, Applecross, and beyond. The views were the last thing these residents were wanting to block, however it was also important to maintain privacy from the streets below as well as glare/light control from the sun at different times of the year.
In this particular apartment, we made use of Norman's Top Down/Bottom Up motorised honeycomb blinds to the ensuite, the homeowners were able to screen out the privacy issue of the streets below, while maintaining their uninterrupted views. We are proud to have furnished over 100 apartments in this complex with window treatments tailored to each homeowner's individual requirements. We have installed the full gamut of window treatments within the complex, from double curtains curving around a 6 metre floor to ceiling glass wall of the master suite, to 100% blockout motorised rollerblinds with Norman's Lightguard 360, timber venetians, plantation shutters and even external rollerblinds.
Project 2
Murdoch University - Boola Katitjin Building
Window Shading Solutions were privileged to be involved in the Project Management and Installation of 326 chain operated and motorised rollerblinds to Murdoch University's new academic building, Boola Katitjin, which is the largest mass engineered timber project in Western Australia.
The 180 metre long structure was constructed using approximately 1,800 pieces of mass engineered timber, and pushed engineering boundaries with the installation of some of the largest beams ever seen in Australia by volume - with some weighing more than 7,000kg and extending 26 metres in length.
Managing the installation of blinds to the facade presented a range of challenges - including fitting locations, physical space constraints and powering and controlling the vast number of motorised blinds. This required careful planning and consultation with project managers, site supervisors, electricians and our installation team. The end result was stunning with unique architecture and installation techniques to achieve the impossible!
Project 3
Waikiki Residence
This beautiful home extension and renovation located on the crystal clear Warnbro Sound in Waikiki required some luxe window treatments to match the stature and location of the home. Featuring So-Lux automated rollerblinds using Gaposa Italian motors and Australian made blockout fabrics. Adding wall to wall linen-blend sheer curtains with a wave heading recessed into the ceiling accentuates the high ceilings and softens the room, creating a relaxed mood.

Project 4
One The Esplanade, Perth
Our biggest project to date! One The Esplanade was a massive project management and installation undertaking. Spread over 28 floors, we fit approximately 6,000 chain operated and motorised rollerblinds. We had to develop bespoke solutions for the building's curved facade and double side channels that are integrated into the window frames.

Our mobile showroom is a better environment than making your selections in a showroom. Fabrics have a unique ability to absorb and reflect their surroundings. The harshness of showroom lighting and lack of your homes' individual ambience makes subtle differences to the look and feel you will receive as an end result.
